City Council Approves Tax Abatement

The city council voted 8-1 to approve the tax abatement for the condos and the retail space at Harrison Square. The sole dissenting vote was councilman Mitch Harper who expressed concern that the abatements could conflict with changes coming in the form of HB1001. I was going to write more but Scott Spaulding at DFWB already has a great synopsis that you should read. Spaulding goes into detail on the question of whether or not the tax abatements will actually pass through to condo owners as the city suggests and the repercussions this might have on they types of loans available for these properties.
