Moving Beyond Harrison Square

Come to the library on Wednesday, April 16 at 6 PM for an urban design lecture and panel discussion about development in the area around Harrison Square and beyond.
The event is entitled “ Beyond the Square” and will feature Professor Philip Bess of Notre Dame, an expert in neighborhood ballpark design.
No matter what your personal opinion may have been of Harrison Square, the majority of us want to see downtown thrive, especially after the investment that has now been made.
Professor Bess’ lecture and subsequent panel discussion with experts from Ball State’s College of Architecture and Planning will help to guide discussions in Fort Wayne about how future development should look and function.
The event is free and open to the public and will be held in the basement auditorium of the library.

Well the Fort Wayne public should be interested.
I’m sure Professor Bess is a great speaker.
Of course, the baseball stadium built in South Bend and the downtown of South Bend is declining.
Location. Location. Location.
Actually, it’s Notre Dame that is doing so well.
We in Fort Wayne care more about the rate of return on the publics’ investment of our Baseball Stadium. The look and feel of the Architecture does not translate into common sense, timing and dollars well spent.
