Enjoy The 4th

I hope everybody is enjoying their 4th of July. Earlier today I went down to the rifle range at Huntington and celebrated my 2nd Amendment rights. Tonight, like most people, I will shoot off a few fireworks and watch the IPFW show. Whatever you do, don’t end up like I did a few years ago. After years of shooting fireworks without incident I had a whole string of knockoff blackcats blow up in my hand.

It hurt like hell, and my hand was blistered something fierce, but I refused to go to the emergency room to be counted as a statistic in the July 5th paper. So just remember to set those suckers on the ground before lighting them off…

One interesting thing about the (new) new ordinance. It says you have to light them off ON YOUR PROPERTY, or the property of someone YOU HAVE PERMISSION from.
The problem is not so much where they’re LIT, but where THEY COME DOWN.
Now you can argue that there’s NO way of telling where….B-S!
If there is ANY angle placed on a rocket or aerial firework, gravity and physics takes over and it will follow something known as a TRAJECTORY. And that often leads to OTHER PEOPLES’ HOUSES.

Use a nice chunk of ground (1/2 acre works well) or a park to do that kind of stuff. it’s not for use in a densely populated residential neighborhood.
    (try telling my “neighbors”).

That must explain the “density” of MY surrounding populace.

    ;)

Here’s a thought for the Birthday of our Nation. How many of us fly the United States Flag at our homes and businesses? Did you ever look at the point of origin on the flags we have? I wrongly assumed (yep, I know) all American flags were made in the United States. Wrong. Nothing like finding “Made in China” on Old Glory.
What’s going on with this COuntry? Are we nuts?
The thought of a Communist slave laboror making the flag of MY Country.

Chinese fireworks. Chinese picnic supplies. Chinese clothing and now Chinese American flags

    Happy Birthday America!
