Montagano Hits The Airwaves

Posted by Jeff Pruitt - 8/12/08 @ 9:12 pm - Filed Under 2008 Local Elections

Mike Montagano, 3rd District Congressional nominee, has already taken to the airwaves with a new ad that starts today. The Montagano campaign is pushing significantly harder at this point than Tom Hayhurst was two years ago.

Of course it’s still an uphill battle against congressman Mark Souder - especially given the fact that Souder’s using taxpayer money to send out campaign material (more here and here).

Up until I saw this ad, I was convinced that Montagano would be crushed like a grape by Souder. HOWEVER, I have always believed that a Pro-Life Democrat could take Souder down. I had no idea that Montagano was pro-life but also gutsy enough to bring it up in a dem campaign ad.

I truly believe Souder could be in serious trouble.

Wait–you’re telling me that this Monto de Gonzo fellow is:

    1) Pro-life; and
    2) Not Souder?

If he’s against gun control, I don’t need to know anything else to vote for him.

I’d settle for just Number 2. I wouldn’t expect him to retain his pro-life stance, you can’t advance as a Democrat in Congress if you’re pro-life.

Any guy who will stop in his freshly pressed polo shirt and help an all-american boy paint a white all-american fence has got to be a great fella. I guarantee John Edwards never helped a kid paint a fence. This guy looks like he cr_ps apple pie.

I believe I will vote for Montagano.

Fresh government is in order, and if he does not
produce in 4 years I’ll vote him out.

At this moment in time, I am voting for
    term-limits.

    Mr. Green Jeans,

Assuming we’ll have to swallow his cr_p for two years when he’s elected–apple pie isn’t a bad way to go.

His tan was deep, his smile was wide
He had the unions on his side
    He tried to make sense
    As he painted a fence
Another term for Souder, I sighed

    Bobett:
    Right on!
Somthing about “term limits” keeps coming back to me. Wasn’t it the “current occupant” of the office in congress that touted them at one time?

As I recall it was just about as honest as “read my lips, no new taxes” and “I did not have sex with that woman”.

Sadly however, I fear Mr. Cumtwa may also be “right on”!

Souder promised he would only serve 12 years in the 4th District. The District is now numbered the 3rd District. This is why he says his term limit promise does not apply. Do you not buy this wonderful argument? Only a true politician could come up with this one.
