Will The Strong Arm Tactics Pay Off?

The county plan commission will have a special meeting at noon on Thursday to “reconsider” the Canyon Cliffs development. They will also “reconsider” lifting the sewer restrictions that would allow the city to expand its sewer service to the Canyon Cliffs development.

Of course this occurs only days after Bodenhafer and the rest of his band of thugs filed a personal (and frivolous) lawsuit against the three commission members who originally voted against the project. The question is whether or not the developers’ strong-arm tactics will pay off?

Since the development needs 5 votes to proceed I would strongly suggest that the 3 members that voted against the project not even bother to show up to Thursday’s meeting - a protest if you will. Maybe if they don’t show then they won’t get sued…

The fact that a special meeting was called is telling.

    Strong arm tactics - - - pleeeaseee.

You just don’t “get it” do ya ???

Canyon Cliffs is already a done deal. Case closed - clock expired. Ever see the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life” ? Old Man Potter looks like a Saint compared to these home-town players.

Not convinced ? How about the 1980’s flick, “Roadhouse” ? Remember small-town gazillionaire Brad Wesley ??

Maybe this little excerpt will jog your memory:

Brad Wesley: “A local businessman who wields powerful influence over the town” - (thanks Wikipedia)

There aint gonna be, or will not be, a Dalton (aka Patrick Swayze) coming to the rescue in this little number, nor Wade Garrett. And don’t even think of some kind of Jimmy Stewart/George Bailey type making some kind of ethical, do-gooder speech as to why Canyon Cliffs should not go forward.

Folks this is solely about dinero - and lots of it. That’s prime real estate up there near Cedar Creek. Perfect spot for spreading out the tentacles. The extremely wealthy are already picking out ceramic floor tile and Ralph Loren color schemes for the soon-to-be built miniature fortresses.

Word to the wise - don’t push too much against the powers that be. Just sit back and relax and let this “little” luxurious subdivision go through the necessary channels.

Can’t you see the Bulls are on Parade ???
