Local blogger seems to dislike Sarah Palin intensely
Posted by Mike Sylvester - 9/4/08 @ 6:18 pm - Filed Under Uncategorized
There have been numerous posts on this blog concerning the Republican VP, Sarah Palin. Some of the posts have been favorable to Sarah and others have been less favorable.
These posts have elicited huge numbers of comments from many readers of this blog.
It is obvious that the readers of this blog have widely varying views about Sarah Palin and that is to be expected. Most of the comments on this blog are well thought out and contain few, if any, personal attacks.
For example, Jeff Pruitt and I strongly disagree strongly about Sarah Palin; however, we have not resorted to calling each other names or attacking each other due to this difference of opinion.
I was reading another local blog, Fort Wayne News, when I came across a link to another local blog called Aint that Sherific. After watching Sarah Palin’s acceptance speech this week Sheri came to a much different conclusion about Sarah Palin then I have come to. You can learn more about Sheri’s opinion here.
Sheri is certainly entitled to her own opinion and America is a land where freedom of expression is protected; however, I think she could do better at critiquing Sarah Palin…

I wish you would remove the link. It gives her more credibility than she deserveds. At least when Pruitt gives a dissenting opinion he vocalizes his reasoning behind it and doesn’t lower himself to namecalling.
Good for you Mike, and thanks for pointing out just how reprehensible some people can be.
You’re all right. You all are so much better than me. Dang.
Uh oh, the GOP has a messiah now.
Wow Mike, You even have John Good slammin’ you now! Tolerant bunch they are.
Mike, I guess I’m a little surprised that you should have been enjoying the rarefied air of the Cheesed-Off Caucasian’s
cesspoolexquisitely-nuanced blog, and then follow a link to Mrs. Rouse and find her a little too … what, robust, maybe?Or, on second thought, I guess maybe I’m not surprised. As always, the crucial thing is whose ox is being gored, right?
Sheri - One of you is worth 1,ooo intolerant asshats any old day.
Parson - You got the first four letters of Messiah right.
Tim-may preachin’ tolerance - Good lord, the end times they are a near. . . lol
Jim - Quite. It’s always a matter of perspective. And please stop offending cesspools with your comparisons to those beneath them.
Sooooo, John John. Sheri’s response to Palin’s speech (simply calling her a bitch) is your idea of tolerance? Sweet. Kinda makes my case for me.
Jim Wetzel:
I can certainly see yout point of view…
Something about Sheri’s post irritated me.
Mike Sylvester
Parson, the GOP has had a messiah for over 2000 years, we don’t need a false one.
Jon Olinger! That is priceless! Well done!
Jon,
That comment confirms what I’ve suspected for a long time. I still have some other questions:
1. Which denomination of the GOP do you belong to?
2. Are donations tax deductible?
3. If both the GOP and DNC have their own messiahs, false or otherwise, would that make the Libertarian Party the largest secular political party in the US?
Secular? You have Ron Paul.
Jon Olinger -
Is one to assume based on your statement, IF you are a member of the GOP Party, you are a Christian and thus believe Jesus Christ is the Messiah ???
I take your statement to be a personal assumption, but none the less, ignorant and careless.
I happen to know of a very prominent member of the local Allen County GOP, who’s particular religion does NOT subscribe to your religious belief.
I enjoy Sheri’s posts. I believe that you don’t have to be eloquent to state your opinion. Not all of us are writers. Why do we always have to condemn each other?
Abby, no one here says you need to be eloquent when posting, but a few of us simply think you should be civil. If you disagree with Palin, state your case, but just calling someone a nasty name because you disagree with them doesn’t lack eloquence as much as it lacks character and common decency.
It should work both ways. What I’m saying is obvious. She should be able to say what she wants on her blog. It’s ok for others to point to her blog if they think she’s wrong too. Those who feel they are right should be strong enough within themselves to withstand whatever is said. Hopefully the cream rises to the top.
Robert,
I belong to the First Conservative Church of God:) Jesus is our Savior, but Ronald Reagan is the first Patriarch.
Yes Andy I know a at least one “very prominent” member of the Allen County GOP that doesn’t exactly subscribe to my religion, but I don’t know any Republican’s that worship trees or the “earth mother”
Seriously Robert, you and I likely agree on the issue of Religion in government. The separation of church and state does not exist outside of a judge’s opinion, but the first amendment is very clear on the issue.
And how many times have I been called a leftard, a dumbocrat, or shitrific becuase of my views Tim? Have you ever stood against those “bad words”? It does go both ways honey. Just as I take issue with YOU mentioning tolerance, I certain take issue with YOU mentioning civility.
And Jon, while I agree that there is already a messiah, I feel it is wrong of you to assume that because I choose something other than the GOP that I feel differently.
You know what is great about this election is that the pressure is entirely off republicans, like my good friend Jon Olinger and Tim Zank. McCain is not supposed to stand a chance so it is all upside for us. If McCain manages to pull off the biggest upset of the ages (and the polls are at 42/42 today) he will be snatching victory from the jaws of defeat. The Dems, like Sheri will literally need to be put on suicide watch. We will be lucky that there are not many high cliffs around town. In fact, if the Dems lose this race in the face of George W Bush’s 12.3% approval rating, then they should just start over with a new party and a new name. This is almost like the Patriots and Giants and we all know the Giants did not have a chance in that game.
If Obama cannot win this election, the Democrats may not be able to elect a President in decades. On a national scale, its like a whole party full of the Keystone Kops.
Also, Palin’s speech was reminiscent of Ronald Reagan’s speech in 1976 when everybody realized they had nominated the wrong person. Palin 2012!
Sheri, Good, and the rest of the Donkey Party wasted their VP pick. That was apparent when Biden was picked and it is GLARINGLY apparent now. You can smell the fear (at least I hope that smell is fear).

I thought the idea of money had been around for more then 2000 years?

My good friend Parson….thank got there is a liberal with a sense of humor…touche:)
This post really takes the cake for …
So let me get this straight your ideological brother “angry whiteboy” aka Dan turkette posts all kinds of racist stuff in code words, but you decided to find an obscure blog based on the use of one word regardless of context and power relations?
Wow..’interesting”. Rather than have to research and think about her crazy positions you find some obscure blog to “comment” on. Why haven’t felt it necessary to point to “angry white boys” comments…just wondering.
I understand you are so busy writing editorials saying taxes should never be raised regardless of facts…I feel your pain. Props for using Jeff as a “liberal” foil.
PS. if you are so concerned about discourse and ethics you might want to go after Dan for blocking anyone who doesn’t agree with his “perspective”

Zank now preaching civility as well? Now I’m SURE it’s the end days!

There are many of us. Thank got indeed.
I’ll leave you Saracuda lovers with my quote of the day:
“Jesus was a community organizer - Pontius Pilate was a governor”
Sorry, Just watch John Stewart….it will be a gut check. But, no you couldn’t be bothered with facts and quotes…he is just a crazy liberal using facts and direct quotes.
Facts and thought matter here…LMAO. This is part of the coordinated Republican/media machine to muddy the waters. Oh..this is all about the “liberal media”…damn you guys suck if you think that is an argument…unfortunately it might work
“PS. if you are so concerned about discourse and ethics you might want to go after Dan for blocking anyone who doesn’t agree with his “perspective””
Once again one can do whatever they want with their blog whether he’s really blocking someone’s comments or view or not. If one fears being edited or blocked then don’t go there… a more balanced discussion may then occur elsewhere.
Save the tricky part of the world of blogs on how to handle comments… For example it’s scary that anyone can be impersonated by simply filling in that name. I still remember when Keith Edwards started commenting on his blog and few could really believe that was him “speaking” and but that turned out to be true… lol
Kent, John and Sheri
Please, please continue to make fun of Governor Palin. It’s resonating so well with the American people.
Mike,
I am assuming you know how to read. I said many things, that you ignored, but none of them said racist Dan couldn’t be a racist in his blog. Interesting that that is the only thing you bothered with.
Kent Strock,
I am thinking that maybe you should learn to read BEFORE you ask me to learn to read. I posted the original post a few days ago.
I posted one comment and it was directed towards Jim Wetzel.
I think he was referring to Mike Harvey’s comment…
Is there an ignore button on here? lol
“SOUL MATES”
He met her at the Wailin Wall–
So John McCain met Sarah,
And, smitten with the Palin Pall
Thought no one could be fairer.
“I have these scars” so he declared–
Here, feel beneath my armpits,”
And then, when secrets had been bared
He led her to the charm pits.
“In nakedness we soul-mates bathe
And we are soul-mates clearly,”
Thus quoth Old John; but heaven’s lathe
Continued most severely.
Upon the Day of Judgment and
Upon the Day of Doom,
Will precious pair walk hand-in-hand
Or stay behind in tomb?
Ah, “soul-mates” they–the beast remains
A thing of various backs–
And one may count out spindly gains
Whilst th’other one attacks.
O, John and Sarah were a pair–
He labeled her well-spunked–
Producing babies in their lair
That came out half-defunct.
.
If that last verse is a reference to Palin’s children or specifically a child, that is one of the most despicable things I have ever read.
Going by her picture on her site. I can sum her up in three words “Fat Jealous Skant
to Soul..
You obiously are an un-godly person. To make fun of a child with Down’s Syndrome is about as pathetic as it gets.
