Looks Like No Consolidation For CTO Position

Posted by Jeff Pruitt - 9/6/08 @ 11:01 am - Filed Under Local Politics

After Clifford Clarke resigned, or took unpaid leave or whatever else the city wants to call it, there was some talk that the city and county might be able to consolidate their IT departments under one department head.

However, the city has now posted the Chief Information Officer position on a job website so we must assume that they do not want to consolidate the position - or at least they don’t see Clarke’s resignation as the catalyst to do so…

This posting is not currently anywhere on the City web site.

Why would a position like this not be listed in the City H.R. job postings?

It’s not on Monster yet either.

Maybe they were planning on releasing it Monday (along with some “press” about it) and someone hit the wrong button…too early…

A little history of Mr. Clark disappearing. It was asked if City Council knew before the last meeting?

The answer is simple YES and apparently they knew why. How do I know?

Be it a neighborhood meeting, boy scout meeting, a class of children most humans do this. They notice if a key person is missing and seem to ask this stupid question, Where is so and so?” Not one of the council members did!

Had they been told he was “ill” in general someone would make a comment to such so all council members and the public knew because of the live broadcast.

Also did anyone in the media raise that as a major inquest right after the meeting? I don’t remember it so one has to wonder if they had been tipped off.

Mr. Clark served at the pleasure of the Mayor. For whatever reason the Mayor decided to send him packing.

There are a lot of jobs not listed on the city web site. How many posting have you ever seen for jobs in City Utilities, clerks, and so forth. The types of jobs many Fort Wayne residents could qulify for but they never make it to the web site. Go figure!

    He’s already been replaced!

Just checked again and still not listed on City site.

Maybe J.Q. is on to something along with John!

Guess only time will tell. Probably not a good idea to leave the office empty too long with the new vendor coming in.
