Nancy Pelosi and her broken promises

Does anyone remember back when Nancy Pelosi promised to oversee the “most ethical” Congress in history?
It was a campaign promise that helped the Democrats win a majority in Congress; however, the Democratic majority has been “business as usual” just like the Republicans they replaced.
I detest corruption as you all know. I am more than willing to call out both Republicans and Democrats when they are corrupt.
Charlie Rangel is a Democratic Congressman who is in charge of the powerful Ways and Means Committee. He is in charge of tax policy for the House so he has a lot to do with my chosen profession. This man is responsible for the Committee that changes the tax code in this country.
You can read more about Rangel and his tax woes. His most recent round of ethics and tax problems are nothing new for Rangel and occur often enough to be seen as normal.
The most egregious of the new allegations is that he did not claim rental income on a vacation home for the last 20 years.
Rangel is the ranking Democrat in charge of tax policy for this Country and he has not reported 20 years worth of income on a vacation home he owns in The Dominican Republic. In fact, he has been cited as saying “that he did not know he needed to report the income.”
Give me a break.
Rangel needs to go and Nancy Pelosi is proving time and again that she has no intention of keeping her campaign promises.
Even the New York Times has blasted Rangel for his failure to report rental income on his tax returns.
Congressional approval ratings have reached the lowest point in the history of our Country. This year they have hovered around 20% and dropped as low as 13%.
The approval ratings of President Bush are higher than those of Congress…
It is a sad day in America.

Presidential canidates speak of clean campaigns out of one side of their mouths and spread lies out of the other.
Vice-Predential canidates promise “co-operation” with investigations one day and refuse co-operation the next.
It’s been a really sad 8 years for America! And, it isn’t over yet.
