National Delegate for Obama Supports Change In Local Democratic Leadership

While the status quo Democrats line up behind current chairman Mike Bynum (you know Gia Quinta, Win Moses, Tim Pape, Kevin Knuth) 3rd District National Delegate Sofia Rodriguez Mirwaldt has sent a letter of support for challenger Pat Moore.

I don’t think there’s any doubt who the better choice would be - just read the letter after the jump as many of the things about inclusion and kindness I’ve already touched on are reiterated. The choice is between that and the power brokers who think their little cabal has an inherent right to control the party.

Pat Moore for Chair

Dear Precinct Committee persons and Vice Committee persons:
In January of 2008, I walked into Democratic Headquarters a Republican who had taken an extraordinary journey with then Sen. Barack Obama in Las Vegas. I arrived home more energized and connected to a cause than I had been in years, maybe ever. The first face I encountered was Pat Moore. She was as enthusiastic and excited as I felt. She shared her knowledge with me about everything from getting the petitions signed to get Obama on the ballot to helping me understand what I needed to do to run for State Delegate. This was all at the very first meeting. There was no judgement from her on how I had voted in the past, just a celebration of the enthusiasm I was ready to share.

Never too busy to talk to someone new. Never too impatient to stop and help another volunteer, Pat became a resource to me and to my group Allen County 4 Obama. Through her friendship and leadership, she was there from the first meeting with encouragement and ideas. Many new members that would attend, including some of AC4O’s most dedicated volunteers, came from meeting Pat first who sent them to an AC4O meeting. She helped grow our group and in turn the Democratic Party.

The most important thing you need to know about Pat Moore is that she is genuine. She will never disrespect your party, but rather be your biggest Champion. She will encourage others to mobilize not just with words, but with her actions. She will not be afraid to help new people to the benefit of growing the party and amassing numbers to rally behind this Country’s and our community’s biggest concerns. With Pat Moore you will see a shift in the perception of the party in the community to one of action. Now is the time for a leader like Pat Moore.

Through all the success in AC4O, through all the success in Allen County and electing our President, it all goes back to that first meeting with Pat Moore. She was the reason for hundreds of volunteers to get mobilized and as your Democratic Chair, an exciting future awaits.

Please elect Pat Moore your Democratic Party chair in 2009.

After the first 30 days of Obama’s regime, I am puzzled that anyone could maintain enthusiasm for bad judgment, poor leadership and immature solutions to serious economic problems . . . but as you know, I am a conservative who favors capitalism over socialism.

So if the mature Pat Moore believes in Obama, it is probably best that you folks put up with the Gia Quintas of the world.

    Gadfly,

If you haven’t noticed Obama is still immensely popular throughout the country…
