Lieberman Stupidity

Wow.

Sen. Joseph Lieberman (I-Conn.) has yet to formally introduce legislation that would strip Americans involved in terrorism of their citizenship and already legal experts, including a former Bush administration official, are calling it “draconian.”

The Connecticut Independent is planning to unveil on Thursday a proposal that will supposedly free up law enforcement in their efforts to try terrorist suspects, by giving the State Department the right to revoke the citizenship of those suspects who are American.

So let me get this straight. If you are an alleged terrorist the government can revoke your citizenship in order to deprive you of your constitutional rights and send you to some phony military tribunal? Brilliant! What could possibly go wrong? Anyone who supports this needs their head examined. Of course that means it will probably pass with flying colors. All you people crying “fascism” at every opportunity - now is your chance to get it right while you chant it…

Damn straight. Hey, they must’ve done something bad, or they wouldn’t have been arrested. And why bother with a trial? That’s just a way for some fancy-pants lawyers to gum up the works. “Direct to Execution” — that’s our new motto!

After all, it’ll probably make us safer …

    Jeff,

I have no idea what Lieberman is thinking! This is an idiotic idea.

    I second Jim’s thoughts.

Trials are so last century. Everyone knows they are a big waste of time and taxpayer money. These bad guys are evildoers and must be terminated immediately.

Bring back public executions, preferably on Sunday afternoons, so as not to interfere with those of us who have Sunday morning commitments.

No lethal injections either. I prefer firing squads, the guillotine or burning at the stake.

Protesters: (both left and right) You guys are facists!
Congressmen: Overuse of that words cheapens the meaning.
Protestors: Oh, ok. We’ll tone it down.
Congressmen: By the way, we’ll now be issuing biometric ID’s and revoking citizenship of suspects.
